A Return Between Hands
Mahjong rewards composure as much as it rewards tiles. This ritual creates three small pauses — before you sit down, while the tiles are being washed, and when the session ends — so one bad round does not quietly decide the next.
Before the tiles are even touched, rest two fingers on the golden cube at the centre of the bracelet and take one slow breath. This is the moment to decide how you want to play — not what tiles you want, but what kind of player you want to be today. Ask:
"Am I here to play well, or am I here to chase?"
Choose one quality — composure, patience or clarity — and carry it to the table. The tiles will do what they do. Your job is to stay steady.
